Focus Forward Re-Entry Services

What are Re-Entry Services?

Focus Forward’s Re-Entry Services consist of innovative in-custody programming for youth transitioning from the Juvenile Justice Campus (JJC) back to the community, as well as their families. Focus Forward staff members work vigorously alongside the youth’s Deputy Probation Officer (DPO) and the youth’s parents to ensure a seamless transition. During this time Focus Forward assists the youth and their households to accomplish any goals they may have during the re-entry phase and eliminate any barriers they may be experiencing on their path to success.

The main goal of Re-Entry Services is to lower juvenile recidivism in Fresno County. Focus Forward partners with Fresno County Probation and other community organizations to ensure the effective delivery of services inside the JJC, in homes, and at the Focus Forward Community Center. The youth and household clients engage in program activities during the in-custody phase as well as in the community for several months following release. This includes Evidence Based Programs (EBP) such as The Nurturing Parenting Program, Safe Dates - Prevention Program for Dating Abuse, Money Habitudes 2® for At-Risk Youth. Youth clients also attend workshops to explore workforce and education opportunities.
